Long ago, before memory, before time, there was only the Eternal Ocean—a vast, shapeless expanse of water and spirit. From its churning depths rose two divine figures: Izanagi and Izanami, celestial lovers tasked with bringing form to the formless.
They descended from the void and stood upon the floating bridge of the sky. With the Heavenly Jeweled Spear (Ama-no-Nuboko), they stirred the ocean, and from its dripping point fell a single island—the First Land. But in this world, the land is not dominant. It is precious, rare, and sacred. Most of the world remains ocean, dotted with archipelagos, coral palaces, mountain-islands, and drifting spirit groves.
This world is known as Namikami, the Sea of Spirits. A divine realm where the sacred and the strange mingle, where the old gods still walk beneath moonlight and mortal prayers ripple across the waves.
