The Five Great Islands

The world is primarily composed of five major island chains, each with its own distinct culture, geography, and spiritual alignments.

Kaminoshima (Island of Spirits)

Dominated by ancient forests and misty mountains, this island is home to the oldest shrines and is said to be where the veil between the mortal world and the spirit realm is thinnest. Many kami (spirits) are known to manifest visibly here.

Hinotori (Island of Fire)

A volcanic island with rich, fertile soil. Despite frequent eruptions from Mount Kazan, the islanders have prospered here, developing advanced metallurgy and farming techniques that leverage the mineral-rich lands.

Mizumaru (Island of Water)

An archipelago of smaller islands connected by intricate bridges and boat networks. The people here are master shipbuilders and navigators, controlling much of the sea trade.

Kazeami (Island of Wind)

High plateaus and windswept plains characterize this island. The inhabitants have harnessed the power of the constant winds with elaborate windmills and kites used for both practical and military purposes.

Tsuchihime (Island of Earth)

Mountainous and resource-rich, this island is known for its vast cave systems and mineral wealth. The most disciplined warriors come from these lands, trained in the harsh mountain environments.
